Isaiah 1:17 NIV

[17] Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.

Prayer:

Father, we're thankful that we serve a God of justice. Father, we're thankful that You execute righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. Father, we are thankful that You help the stranger because Your children were once strangers in Egypt. Father, we are thankful You've called us to speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy. Father, we are thankful that You raise the poor from the dust and lift the needy from the ash heap. Father, I pray that when the poor man cry, You will hear and deliver him out of all his troubles. Father, I pray the oppressed will not retreat in disgrace. Father, I pray that the poor and needy will praise your name. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen!
